Kam was an active representative and chair for many committees and taskforces for numerous Canadian Technical and scientific associations including:
 

      • The Canadian Standards Association (CSA)
      • Canadian General Standards Board
      • WHMIS Federal Task Force
      • Federal Committee on Transportation of Dangerous Goods

 
Kam served for three years (1993-1996), on Ontario Government’s Joint Central Committee (J.C.C.), representing all Government Professional Associations (Doctors, Lawyers, Engineers and Provincial Teachers)

 

Professional Profile
 
Kam served as a senior approvals engineer with the Ontario Ministry of Environment, a manager of special projects, and a senior engineering consultant with the Ontario Ministry of Labour for 24 years and has been a member, LGA Councillor, Councillor-at-Large, and Chair of the Government Affairs Committee for the Professional Engineers of Ontario(PEO) spanning the past 29 years. Kam also serves on the discipline committee.

Kam was also a director of the Canadian Society for Professional Engineers from 1985-1993.

Kam was the president of the Government of Ontario Professional Engineers Association(PEGO), for two consecutive terms 1991-92, 1992-93.
